In late January 1988, Majestic Theatre hosted the Broadway’s premiere of this production. It is the 1st longest show ever running in the history of both, West End and Broadway, passing by the mark of 23 000 plays in total on these main scenes and more that 2000 on other scenes of the world (2nd place holder ‘Les Miserables’ counts only 19000+ plays of both WE+BW scenes).
As of May 2016, production continues to go in the West End. Lynne, the leading role were played by M. Premiere took place in early October 1986 at Her Majesty's Theatre.
